Gabriel Motzkin

Gabriel Motzkin taught history, philosophy and German literature at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Between 1996 and 1999 as well as 2006 and 2007, he was director of the Franz Rosenzweig Center for German-Jewish Literature and Cultural History at that university, and from 2001 to 2004, he was director of the Faculty of Arts. Motzkin is director of the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute. He published a large amount of articles, as well as the book Time and Transcendence: Secular History, the Catholic Reaction and the Rediscovery of the Future (1992).
