James Rubin

James Rubin, journalist and former Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs under president Clinton, knows the world of foreign affairs from the inside. As spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs between 1997 and 2000, he was considered the right-hand man of Madeleine Albright. He then worked as a senior advisor and campaign strategist on the presidential campaigns of John Kerry and Hillary Clinton. Rubin also pursued successful careers in journalism and academia. A media insider, he was lead anchor at Sky News, executive editor at Bloomberg News and is husband of the well-known international CNN-reporter Christiane Amanpour. Rubin was a visiting professor at the London School of Economics and taught at Columbia University, his alma mater. He is currently a research fellow at Oxford, working on a book concerning US military missions abroad.
