Karl Jaspers

Karl Jaspers was philosopher and psychiatrist. He studied law and medicine in Heidelberg and taught psychology and philosophy there. In 1913 his famous Allgemeine Psychopathologie appeared, in 1932 the trilogy Philosophie saw the light. In his later work Jaspers warned for the dangers of technocracy, majoritarian democracy and totalitarianism – he and his wife personally experienced the threat of Nazism.
