Koen Lenaerts

Koen Lenaerts studied law at the Catholic University of Leuven and at Harvard, where he also worked as a research assistant. Beside his academic career in European law at the Europe College in Brugge, the Catholic University of Leuven and Harvard, Lenaerts also pursued a successful career as a lawyer and a judge. Since 2003 he has worked at the European Court of Justice, where he was elected president in October 2015.
