Norman Manea

Norman Manea is a novelist. A concentration camp survivor and outcast of the Romanian communist dictatorship, he left his homeland in 1986. Since 1989, he has been Professor of European Culture at Bard College in New York. His best-known work is his fictional memoir The Return of a Hooligan (2003).
