Philip Eijlander

Philip Eijlander was Chancellor of Tilburg University from 2008 to 2015. After studying Public Administration at the University of Twente, he was a lecturer and researcher at the Tilburg Faculty of Law, where he gained a PhD in 1993 and became a Professor in constitutional and administrative law in 1999. He also held various administrative positions in the 1990s: he was director of Research and Development at the Ministry of Justice and Director of Supervision at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment. From 1999 until 2005, Eijlander led the Schoordijk Institute; he then became Dean of the Faculty of Law of Tilburg University before taking office as Chancellor.
