Rod Dreher

Rod Dreher rose to fame as longtime editor and columnist for The American Conservative and as the author of the bestselling books Live not by Lies (2020) and The Benedict Option (2017), about his idea for Christians to learn how to fight on culture war battlefields if they are not to be conquered. Feeling at home in Hungary, which he considers to be more free than countries in the West that call themselves liberal, Dreher currently is a fellow at the Danube Institute in Budapest, which is committed to patriotism and to respectful conservatism in cultural, religious, and social life. He writes for The European Conservative and in the fall of 2024, his new book Living in Wonder: Finding Mystery and Meaning in a Secular Age will be published.
