Rudi van Dantzig

Rudi van Dantzig was a ballet dancer and the choreographer and artistic leader of the Dutch National Ballet since its foundation in 1965. He wrote over 50 ballets, which are often narrative in form and contain social criticism. The most famous ones are Vier letzte Lieder and Onder mijne voeten. He also wrote biographical portraits of the dancer Nureyev and the Dutch graphic designer and World War II resistance member Willem Arondéus, and published two novels: Voor een verloren soldaat (1986) and Afgrond (1996).
