Susan Neiman studied philosophy at Harvard and the Freie Universität Berlin. She was Professor of Philosophy at Yale and Tel Aviv University before being appointed director of the Einstein Forum in Berlin in 2000. Neiman wrote works such as Slow Fire: Jewish Notes from Berlin (1992), Evil in Modern Thought (2002), Moral Clarity. A Guide for Grown-Up Idealists (2008) and Why Grow Up? (2014).
