Tomáš Sedláček

Tomáš Sedláček is an economist, a former advisor to Czech President Václav Havel and a member of the Czech government’s National Economic Council. He became known internationally through his best-selling Economics of Good and Evil. The Quest for Economic Meaning from Gilgamesh to Wall Street (2011), in which he places the wisdom of philosophers and poets above that of strictly mathematical models of human behaviour. In the Czech Republic, Sedláček’s provocative publications turned him into a national phenomenon. The Yale Economic Review recently proclaimed him one of ‘5 hot minds in economics’.
