Willem van Hasselt

Willem van Hasselt studied economics and philosophy in Rotterdam, Leiden and Paris, and subsequently worked as a researcher at various institutes. In 1982, he began working for the Dutch Foreign Affairs ministry. He became responsible for European integration, was involved with the drawing up of the Maastricht Treaty, and specialized in the philosophical dimensions of international relations, among them the cultural and religious factors in politics.
