
Antony Blinken
Antony Blinken is an American diplomat and Secretary of State in the Biden administration. As Deputy Secretary of State under President Obama he led the diplomatic efforts to combat ISIL, to reorient foreign policy towards Asia and to address the global refugee crisis. Before that, he acted as Principal Deputy National Security Advisor to President Obama and National Security Advisor to Vice President Biden. Blinken graduated from Harvard and Columbia Law School, and is currently a managing director of the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement and the Herter/Nitze Distinguished Scholar at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. He is the author of Ally Versus Ally: America, Europe and the Siberian Pipeline Crisis (1987), and regularly contributes to The New York Times and CNN.
