Arthur Danto
Arthur C. Danto was a philosopher of visual art. He studied philosophy in Paris and at Columbia University, where he was Professor of Philosophy until his retirement. For fifteen years, he was art critic for The Nation. Among his works are Nietzsche as Philosopher (1965), After the End of Art (1997) and The Abuse of Beauty (2003).
