Christine D’haen

Christine D’haen studied Germanic philology, philosophy and English. She wrote a biography of Belgian poet Guido Gezelle and translated work by novelist Hugo Claus into English. D’haen’s first poems appeared in journals Dietsche Warande and Belfort in 1948; her first poetry collection, Gedichten 1946-1958, came out in 1958. Her poetic work after 1946 was collected in Miroirs (2002). In 2004, she published Uitgespaard zelfportret, a prose collection.
