Joseph Frank

Joseph Frank was Professor of Slavic Languages and Literature and Comparative Literature at Stanford University. His five-volume biography of Dostoevsky, which he wrote between 1976 and 2003, was awarded many prizes. In 2009, a selection of this work was published as Dostoevsky: A Writer in His Time. Other titles by Joseph Frank include Between Religion and Rationality. Essays in Russian Literature and Culture (2010) and Responses to Modernity. Essays in the Politics of Culture (2012).
