Katie Mitchell

Katie Mitchell is a theatre director. She began her career with theatre companies such as Paines Plough and the Royal Shakespeare Company. Her opera debut in 1991 was Don Giovanni with the Welsh National Opera. She also directed a film version of Benjamin Britten’s The Turn of the Screw. At the end of 2011, she was the director of Manfred Trojahn’s opera Orest performed by De Nederlandse Opera.
