Mark Anderson

Mark M. Anderson was the director of the Deutsches Haus of Columbia University in New York, where he has worked since 1985 and is now Professor of German. Anderson made and edited various English translations of literature in German. Among his works are Kafka’s Clothes: Ornament and Aestheticism in the Habsburg Fin de Siecle (1992) and Hitler’s Exiles: Personal Stories of The Flight from Nazi Germany to America (1998). He translated and edited In the Storm of Roses: Selected Poetry of Ingeborg Bachmann (1986).
