Paul Claes

Paul Claes is the author of translations, anthologies, essays, novels and poems. He studied classical languages and Dutch and English literature in Leuven, and taught at universities in Nijmegen, Ghent and Antwerp. Claes writes a weekly poem in Knack. His oeuvre comprises over a hundred works, such as the poetry book De zon gaat onder (1984), the novel Psyche (2006), the essay collection Honderd notities van een alleslezer (2011) and translations of works by James Joyce, Arthur Rimbaud and Rilke.
