Wojciech Karpinski
Wojciech Karpinski studied literature at the University of Warsaw. Later, he taught at Yale, Texas University and New York University. Since 1982 he was living in Paris, where he was a researcher at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique. Karpinski was a long-time editor of literary journal Zeszyty Literackie and published books such as Fajka van Gogha (‘Van Gogh’s Pipe’, 1994), Portret Czapskiego (‘Portrait of Czapski’, 1996) and Prywatna historia wolnosci (‘A Private History of Freedom’, 1997).
