Gerald Cohen

Gerald Cohen was Professor of Social and Political Science at Oxford, and a prominent Marxist philosopher. He is the author of works such as Karl Marx’s Theory of History: A Defence (1978), History, Labour, and Freedom (1988) and Self-Ownership, Freedom, and Equality (1995). In 1996, he held the Gifford Lectures, which were published as If You’re an Egalitarian, How Come You’re So Rich (2000).
