László F. Földényi
László F. Földényi is a literary critic, art historian and essayist. He started his career as a playwright, taught aesthetics, art theory and comparative literature in Budapest, contributed to many cultural magazines and published several collections of essays. In these, he writes about art, literature, philosophy and modernity and sheds light on the European cultural tradition. His essay collection Dostoyevsky Reads Hegel in Siberia and Bursts into Tears was translated into English in 2020 and gained international attention. That same year, he was awarded the Leipzig Book Award for European Understanding. Since 1996, Földényi has written no less than seventeen essays for Nexus.
